AMAYA. Transform a desert resource into a high-value proposition.

AMAYA explores how to transform the potential of huarango into a higher-value proposition. Research, fermentation, distillation, validation, sustainability and art applied to identity are integrated within a single development pathway.

THE CHALLENGE

Start with the right question.

The starting point was an emblematic raw material from the Peruvian desert—the huarango pod—with the challenge of turning it into a technically viable premium spirit, culturally coherent and capable of supporting genuine differentiation.

THE PATH

Connected capabilities to move forward.

The sequence was not designed as a list of services. Each stage responded to a specific project need.

01

Value creation

Exploration of the huarango pod as a raw material for high-value fermentation and distillation.

02

Process

Selection, controlled fermentation, distillation, technical resting and ageing trials in reused barrels.

03

Identity

Art competition using natural huarango ink, with the winning works applied to the official labels under usage rights granted by their authors.

04

Preparation

Technical, sensory, commercial and regulatory validation as part of the path to market.

EVIDENCE

Evidence of an integrated value-creation pathway.

At AMAYA, evidence is not concentrated in a single indicator: it combines technical and sensory validation, regulatory readiness, cultural identity and sustainability mechanisms linked to huarango.

CASE INSIGHT

The product as a system, not an isolated object.

The development integrated raw material, process, sensory experience, identity and regulatory readiness. The project also incorporated traceability mechanisms and actions linked to huarango conservation as part of its value proposition.

ART APPLIED TO IDENTITY

From huarango to the label.

As part of the project, a painting competition was held using natural ink made from huarango. The winning works were incorporated into AMAYA's official labels under usage rights granted by their authors, connecting biodiversity, contemporary art and product identity.

CAPABILITIES ACTIVATED

What this case puts into practice.

These capabilities can be activated together or separately in other projects, depending on the starting point and objective.

WHAT IT DEMONSTRATES

A capability that can be transferred.

AMAYA demonstrates that a territorial raw material can become a premium proposition when science, process, design and narrative move forward in coordination.
